# Make a technical process visible

Why is your machine or component the right fit? The detail that answers that question may be hidden behind a cover or lost in a busy factory view. Technical animation makes its operation and applications visible, helping buyers assess the product and explain it to colleagues. The drawings and claims still need to represent the real equipment.

## Define the technical question

Does the buyer need to understand material flow, recognize a component's role, or distinguish two configurations? These are different tasks. Choose one and identify which details must be represented accurately.

Imagine a fictional machine manufacturer explaining how a part moves through a station. The film needs the input, relevant assembly, and output. Modeling every fastener may add little to that explanation. Showing the wrong direction of movement would undermine the central point.

## Assess the source material

Approved drawings, suitable geometry, product photos, and a confirmed function description can all be useful. Identify the model or revision. Establish which assets may be used and who will review technical accuracy.

Do not fill an important information gap with a plausible-looking invented shape. A schematic representation can be appropriate, but its simplified status should be clear. This concentrates precision on what the audience actually needs to understand.

## Separate sales explanation from instruction

A sales animation may simplify a functional relationship. An operating or maintenance module needs the actual approved procedure and its prerequisites. An attractive segment should not automatically become instructional material when essential context is missing.

## Plan review in stages

Review the statement and sketch first, then geometry and movement, followed by labels and the finished sequence. Keep technical changes traceable. Even a short 3D product animation may require several review roles.

## Talk through the technical work

Ask about data quality, modeling, precision, specialist review and later updates. A general animation sample won’t tell you whether the team can handle your technical requirements.
