Explain the settling-in period to parents

A calm film shows parents enrollment, the daily routine and settling in, and answers their questions before the first day.

For parents, starting childcare is a big step. How does settling in work, what does my child need, whom do I talk to? A childcare explainer video answers that before the first day. The same approach works for family centers and support services.

Show the first weeks

Show settling in as a sequence of days: first with a parent, then short separations, finally the whole morning. Add a typical day with drop-off, play, meals, naps and pickup. Drawn characters are the right choice here.

What to bring to the brief

Your settling-in approach, daily schedule, list of things to bring, contacts and photos of the rooms without children.

Children are not filmed. The length and pace of settling in depend on the individual child, and the film should say so.

Where the video can help

Send it with the offer of a place and show it at the parents’ evening. Ask parents what they will bring on the first day. The intake conversation remains the place for anything personal.
