Purchasers, professionals and eventual users may need different explanations of the same medical device. Decide whom this overview is for before choosing the detail. A component diagram is not an operating instruction or evidence of clinical benefit.

Explain the system before the instructions
Show approved components and their confirmed relationships. Explain roles and the intended system concept using precise terminology. Put operating steps in a separate module developed from original documentation and reviewed by the responsible specialists. Match the degree of visual simplification to the claim being explained.
Gather and review the source material
Bring approved documentation and accurate product assets, with qualified specialists assigned to review them.
Have the responsible specialist review both wording and imagery. Keep personal data out of the scenes and link to the complete information for the intended audience.

Check the practical takeaway
Use the overview with the audience it was made for. Ask people to identify the components and responsibilities. If they take a simplified diagram as an exact technical view, label it more clearly. Point to the appropriate information; an easy-to-follow picture alone doesn't prove suitability or medical effectiveness.
