Help applicants understand where things stand

Show submission, review and possible follow-up questions without making a financial application look automatically approved.

Capri Video · Updated · 1 min read

“Submitted” and “approved” mean very different things to an applicant. A video can make those stages clear for one financial service, including where more information might be needed. Keep the ending true to the decisions still ahead.

Give each application stage its own label

Use a fictional application and neutral documents. Show review, a possible request for more information, and communication of the next step. If several outcomes are possible, make that clear in the sequence. A celebratory final scene can accidentally suggest universal approval, even when the narration is more careful.

Prepare the example

Bring current product documents, a reviewed script and the screens applicants actually use.

Have the responsible specialist review the words and pictures together. Even a check mark can imply a decision that has not been made.

Check it with someone new to the service

Put it near the application page and ask viewers to name the status at each stage. Confusing “submitted” with “approved” is a clear reason to revise a label or transition. Eligibility, terms and individual decisions remain part of the actual review, even when the application process looks straightforward.
