What happens after someone submits the form?

Follow a public-service request from receipt onward, with clear status labels and a visible contact for questions.

A form can work perfectly and still leave someone wondering what happens next. Follow one public-service application or request beyond the send button, showing what receipt confirms and what the person should expect afterward.

Show the step after submission

Use fictional details in the current interface. Show receipt, a possible request for more information, and the real next stage. Keep acknowledgment separate from approval. Display the responsible contact clearly rather than relying only on narration.

Before writing the script

Use the current forms, portal screens and approved process, with the responsible team checking the draft.

Check which terms your audience already knows and who will update the film when the program or process changes. Use clearly fictional people and records in examples.

Check what people take away

Place it beside the service and offer the same explanation in text. Ask what status the request has immediately after submission. Questions people still raise can reveal a confusing term or transition. Update the video when forms, contacts or responsibilities change so it continues to match the real process.
