MP4, WebM or MOV · codec support depends on your browser

Files stay in your browser. No signup, no credit card. Edits disappear when you leave or refresh.

8 files · 200 MiB total · 2-minute export

How it works

  1. Open your video and import an SRT or VTT file, or add text captions manually.
  2. Check each caption’s wording, timing and position in the preview.
  3. Export the video with the captions visible in the picture.

An existing subtitle file supplies words and timestamps. Times refer to the finished sequence, so make your clip edits first and check captions again after any timing changes. For a short video, you can also enter each caption directly.

Good to know

This tool does not transcribe speech automatically. Captions are burned into the video and cannot be toggled off. Advanced subtitle styling and positioning from imported files are not preserved.

Your original files stay unchanged. Download your result before closing or reloading the page; your project is not saved.

Common questions

Do I need an SRT file to add subtitles?
No. You can enter captions as timed text overlays. If you already have an SRT or VTT file, importing it saves typing the text and timestamps again.
Which files can I use?
Support depends on the codecs inside a file and your browser, not just its MP4, MOV or WebM extension. Unsupported files are rejected with an explanation. Sources can be up to 10 minutes long, with a pixel count up to 3840 × 2160 and no edge over 4096 pixels. Audio must be mono or stereo.
What are the export limits?
Open up to 8 files including music, totaling no more than 200 MiB. The edited sequence can be up to 2 minutes long. Video exports use 30 frames per second and 1280 × 720, 720 × 1280 or 720 × 720 pixels. MP4 and WebM availability depends on your browser’s codec support. Exports are limited to 100 MiB. Larger tasks can reach your device’s memory limits.
