How it works
- Open your video and select each clip you want to mute.
- Set the clip volume to zero and remove any added music if you want complete silence.
- Preview, export and download the silent result.
Muting is useful when a clip contains distracting background noise or needs to sit behind a voiceover elsewhere. In a multi-clip project, volume belongs to each clip, so check every one before exporting.
Common questions
- Will muting a clip also mute the music I added?
- No. The optional music track has its own volume. Remove or mute that track as well if the entire result should be silent.
- Which files can I use?
- Support depends on the codecs inside a file and your browser, not just its MP4, MOV or WebM extension. Unsupported files are rejected with an explanation. Sources can be up to 10 minutes long, with a pixel count up to 3840 × 2160 and no edge over 4096 pixels. Audio must be mono or stereo.
- What are the export limits?
- Open up to 8 files including music, totaling no more than 200 MiB. The edited sequence can be up to 2 minutes long. Video exports use 30 frames per second and 1280 × 720, 720 × 1280 or 720 × 720 pixels. MP4 and WebM availability depends on your browser’s codec support. Exports are limited to 100 MiB. Larger tasks can reach your device’s memory limits.
